What an amazing weekend. On Friday and Saturday, our boys scout troop competed in the 39th annual Pop Nye boy scout challenge competition. The last two years my patrol the “Rhino” Patrol had won the competition.
This year I was the leader of Troop 11 and my first concern was for our Troop to win the competition and keep the “Coffee Pot” Trophy here at Troop 11.
My saying was, “Not on my watch!”
I also got to compete in the competition as a member of my patrol, “The Rhinos.”
This year we only had 3 members left in our patrol: Antonio, Kevin, and myself.
It would be tough to win this competition, but possible.
After 14 events: Rifle shooting, fire building, first aid, obstacle course, knot tying, plant id, human ladder, zip line, archery, leave no trace, and few others.
We actually won the 1st place in field events! But we lost points in our camping scores (scouts always remember to put up your “rain fly”) so we came in the 3rd place overall.
But most importantly our TROOP 11 Kodiak Patrol (and my good friends) took the 1st place overall.
It was amazing the time with all the scouts and great competition. But I promise you Mr. Norris (Scoutmaster).
“Not on our watch!”
Here are just a few pictures from this amazing event.
