Naval Academy Indoc Training
This is a great video created by one of our detailers, MIDN 1/C Radix Harris ’15.
This is video overview of our Indoc training at the US Naval Academy Preparatory School. This is mostly Company 2, Class of 2015. Indoc was intense, fast paced, fun, and just a taste of what we will be doing next year during plebe summer.
Today is Day 1 at Naval Academy Preparatory School. I will be having my Dad, update my website while I am in the dark. Here are just few pictures from Day 1.
Checking in at NAPS!
Lined up for haircut at Naval Academy Preparatory School
Fresh haircuts and now studying our “Rates.” Which is basically military knowledge.
I finally got a copy of the Redlands Daily Facts where I was building a fire during the Super Scout competition. While building the fire I had to take my shirt off to block the wind from blowing out the fire. Fortunately, I was the first to burn the rope and win the overall competition.
Today I was honored to lead the Yucaipa High School JR ROTC Memorial Day Service in the City of Banning. It will also be the last time I wear my Air Force JR ROTC uniform and my next uniform will be that of the United States Navy when I attend to US Naval Academy Preparatory school at Naval Station, Newport, Rhode Island in July.
This is our 3rd Eagle Project this month with Troop 11. This project was led by Alex Bottenberg. We painted the teen center at City of Yucaipa. I just realized this is my final Eagle Project I will participate in prior to leaving scouting.
Last month, I competed in my final Boy Scout Camporee called Pop Nye with my Troop 11. I was a member of the Ice Hawk Patrol and had a great time and was really proud how the young Ice Hawks competed. They even earned the presidential award which means they scored at least 90% in every category.
I also got a chance to compete in the Super Scout competition and I finally won this competition. It was something I wanted to earn before leaving boy scouts program in couple months. Here was recent article that was posted in the Redlands Daily Facts.

This afternoon I received an email that I was just accepted to US States Air Force Academy Prep School at the Air Force Academy in Colorado. I was curious that I had not heard anything. This was the last military academy that I had not heard from after applying to all five.
Although, I am completely humbled and honored by the offer by the US Air Force Academy. I have already accepted my officer to Naval Academy Prep School and have to report to Naval Station, Newport Rhode Island on July 22, 2013

Last year, I started my journey to attend college and I applied to all the service academies and civilian schools and finally for the ARMY & NAVY ROTC Scholarships.
Although, I signed my letter of intent for the United States Naval Academy Prep School at the Naval Station in Newport, Rhode Island. It is interesting to see what could have happen.
Last week, I found out I was awarded a full ARMY ROTC scholarship to the University of Texas in San Antonio. I also received acceptances to Texas A&M and UC Riverside.
I mention in a earlier post I also received an appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy.I am curious still curious if I will receive any offers from Air Force Academy or West Point. They are supposed to notify us by April 15th.
It was neat getting the letter below.
Full Scholarship to University of Texas.
Our Yucaipa Youth Commission got to visit the new El Dorado park here in Yucaipa. It is a nature preserve with trails for hikers, horse back riding or bicyclist. It is truly beautiful and only about 1 mile from my home.

I received my official Kitty Hawk Air Society certificate. The Kitty Hawk Air Society (KHAS) is the Honor Society for the AFJROTC program. The purpose of the KHAS is to further instill cadet Leadership and Teamwork qualities. In a manner similar to other Honor Societies, “Kitty Hawkers” are required to maintain a 3.0 weighted GPA with no grade below a “C”. Specific KHAS objectives are: to promote higher academic standards; be of service to the school and community; promote excellence, integrity, and initiative; develop leadership ability; encourage academic excellence, and further educational development in post high school years. KHAS members also serve in key leadership positions throughout the corps.
I had the honor to restarting this program at Yucaipa High Schoool
