If your asking, what is Boy’s State, here is the official explanation:
American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State are the premier programs for teaching how government works while developing leadership skills & an appreciation for your rights as a citizen. As a participant in the program you, will run for office, learn public speaking, create and enforce laws and actively participate in all phases of creating and running a working government in this exciting and fun summer program.
Here is world famous newscaster, Tom Brokaw, talking about Boy’s State.
So on Super Bowl Sunday, I was welcoming everyone to our pancake breakfast fundraiser.
People would walk up to me and say, “…hey, your the guy that was in the paper and you recently got your eagle scout. Congratulations.”
I knew my picture had been in paper the Redlands Daily Facts and the Yucaipa News Mirror. What I had realized that the Redlands Daily Facts had another picture of our Scoutmaster Ray Norris and myself in the paper that Sunday morning. Here is the picture.
I got this in the mail. I never gotten anything from the White House.
I wanted to again thanks the Mayor of Yucaipa Denise Hoyt, Redlands City Councilman and Former Troop 11 Scoutmaster, family and friends for joining me on this special day.
